Will echo be the one-stop shop for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy instead of using ceMRI for detection of fibrosis? This is a potentially important study with implications for care of patients with HCM and risk stratification for sudden cardiac death. The reproducibility of strain has been suspect in other instances, however. The use of strain has been promising for dysynchrony assessment, but has yet to deliver.
