		<description>In this study population, the presence of aortic valve calcification represented a 3-fold risk of having coronary plaque burden when compared with those patients without aortic calcification (independent of cardiac risk factors and variable depending on plaque morphology). This is a very interesting finding as aortic valve degeneration was thought to result from chronic mechanical sheer stresses.</description>
